Serenbe

CHATTAHOOCHEE HILLS, GA

Serenbe is a nationally recognized biophilic, master-planned community located south of Atlanta in the Chattahoochee Hill Country. This unique community has been developed as a series of Hamlets, concentrated villages of higher density homes and commercial centers, that then allow for the preservation of the natural landscape surrounding each Hamlet. This approach has made it possible to preserve as much as 70% of the natural landscape within the 1,000-acre development. Blending a focus on conservation and sustainability with an emphasis on overall wellness and lifestyle, Serenbe utilizes community septic systems, geothermal and solar energy and community farming in a setting where owners and visitors also enjoy restaurants, a renowned theater company, stables, festivals and more.

Brightwater Homes was invited to build several clusters of themed homes within Serenbe’s Mado Hamlet, leading to the development of a diversity of designs to fulfill the vision for Mado. Anders Court was made up of a cluster of eight homes, European in character with Scandinavian influences, sited to form two courtyards on an axis that was centrally located within Mado thereby connecting the central hamlet with the surrounding nature trails. Nearby, a row of Scandinavian inspired townhomes showcase modern character while a cluster of six white farmhouses, each with its own unique character and detailing, line a pedestrian corridor. Cottages are scattered nearby as well – a row of five with varying detailing, color and styles as well as three larger cottages designed as an infill between major elements and each enjoying a large front porch overlooking Mado’s main street.
